To conduct research on the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971, Bangladesh Open University established the Center for Research on Liberation War on 24 February, 2016. Since the establishment 2016, the center procured hundreds of texts on Liberation War. The center has been working toward collecting films and rare legal documents of Liberation War, interviewing the freedom fighters, arranging discussions, public lectures on liberation war. It also has ambitions to engage different types of basic research works regarding our history of liberation.
The center wishes to have a sound hub of different reference materials like books, e-books and liberation history.
National and international seminar or conference on the eve of national day celebration is one of the priority areas of this center.
Short film and audiovisual documentary are very essential now-a-days to connect history with youth. The center has a plan to develop such activities with an international standard.
Biannual journal on our history of liberation and aftermath is a significant future plan for this center.
Community based seminar and symposium will enrich the cognitive and collective knowledge of a society on liberation history.
Books and booklet publication on liberation war, our history and pride will be the regular activities of the center.
The center will recognize the excellent effort of the researcher on liberation war and our national history.
