Tahmina Ferdous

Tahmina Ferdous is a lecturer in Agricultural Economics at the School of Agriculture and Rural Development (SARD), Bangladesh Open University (BOU), Gazipur. She holds a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from Bangabandhu Shaikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (2018) and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from Bangladesh Agricultural University (2016). Her research interests encompass quantitative methods, resource and environmental economics, sampling and survey techniques, agricultural marketing and trade, and farm management.
Tahmina's professional career includes her current role at BOU since May 2024. Her significant publications include studies on the interaction of variety and urea fertilizer on Boro rice, the effects of phosphorus fertilization on hybrid varieties of mungbean, and the impact of different weed control methods on T. Aus rice. Notable works are published in journals such as the Asian Australasian Journal of Food Safety and Security and Acta Agrobotanica.
She was awarded the National Science & Technology Fellowship by the Ministry of Science and Technology for the 2016-2017 period. Additionally, she is a member of the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB), demonstrating her active engagement in the professional community.
