Here people are conscious about education and skill development as most of them want to go abroad. As a result, literacy rate of this division is increasing day by day. There are 6,242 educational institutions for 1,10,34,863 people. Bangladesh Open University is one of them. Sylhet RC started its academic programs in 1994 with a view to educating people with 15 general and need based academic programs through Open and Distance Learning Mode. Now this RC is conducting tutorial services with 71 study centers and 895 tutors.
