ASMA AKTER SHELLY has been working as an Assistant Professor in Finance at the School of Business of Bangladesh Open University (BOU), Gazipur-1705, Bangladesh from June 2019 to date. After completing Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a major in finance from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, she began working as a financial analyst at "Credit Rating and Information Services Limited (CRISL)," the country's first credit rating agency. However, her consistent academic performance persuaded her to choose a profession where she could constantly learn new things and broaden her knowledge. Following that, in 2012, she moved to Lalmatia Mohila College as a lecturer, one of the oldest and most renowned girls' colleges in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Thereafter, in 2013, she started working as a lecturer in finance at Bangladesh Open University's School of Business (BOU). Later, she got promoted to Assistant professor and is still affiliated with the same position in the same school.
ASMA AKTER SHELLY is a multidisciplinary researcher. Her research interests’ keywords include capital budgeting, banking, technology in education, educational theory, e-learning, open and distance education, women empowerment, and blockchain. She has authored 9 (Nine) research papers in different peer-reviewed journals. In addition, she has attended and presented research papers at several national and international conferences. Moreover, she has also completed three research projects funded by Bangladesh Open University (BOU). She has also written book chapters jointly, one for the MBA program of Open School, BOU and another one focusing on students’ satisfaction with open education which was published by the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA), New Delhi.
