Md. Morsalinur Rashid is a Lecturer of Botany at the School of Agriculture and Rural Development (SARD), Bangladesh Open University (BOU), Gazipur. He completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Botany from the University of Dhaka, where he earned the prestigious Dean’s Award (2017-2018) for outstanding undergraduate academic performance.
During his Master’s program, he was awarded the National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship (2019) by the Ministry of Science and Technology. His MSc research was focused on Plant Molecular Ecology, conducted at the Ecology and Environment Laboratory, Department of Botany, University of Dhaka.
He has actively participated in several nationally and internationally funded research projects, including roles as a Research Assistant in projects supported by the USAID-ILSI Foundation and the Asia Pacific Network on Sustainable Green Technology to remediate water pollution during COVID-19. His research interests include plant molecular ecology, environmental pollution impacts on plants, pesticide and insecticide effects on crop production, and molecular marker applications in genetic diversity studies.
Morsalinur has published scholarly articles on potato crop protection, automobile pollution effects on plant physiology, and molecular marker-based genetic analysis of Tectona grandis. Passionate about education and innovation, he strives to excel in both teaching and research, contributing to sustainable agriculture and scientific advancement.
