Dr. Md. Shahidur Rahman (ড. মোঃ শহীদুর রহমান) was born on 1st July, 1983, in the village of Rajpara, located in the Mathbaria Upazila under the district of Pirojpur, Bangladesh. He is the first son of Md. Mazibar Rahman and Mrs. Saleha Begum. Dr. Rahman is married to Khadija Akter Parvin, and they have two daughters named Shreoshi Rahman and Preoshi Rahman. He is a Bangladeshi citizen by birth and follows the Sunni branch of Islam.
In January 2011, Dr. Rahman commenced his academic career at Bangladesh Open University (BOU) as a Lecturer of Botany. In October 2014, he was promoted to the position of Assistant Professor (Botany), and in October 2022, he attained the rank of Associate Professor (Botany) at the Open School, BOU.
