Umasree Dhar is an associate professor of physics who began her academic career as a lecturer at the Open School of Bangladesh Open University in 2010. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Physical Science with a specialization in nanotechnology at the Department of Physics, University of Dhaka. Prior to her doctoral studies, she completed a Master of Science (MS) in Physics at the University of Chittagong, where she also earned her Bachelor of Science (BSc) with honors in the same field. Her research interests are varied and include nanoscience, biomedicine, and open and distance learning. Umasree Dhar has gained considerable experience in general laboratory techniques in basic physics at the undergraduate level and in material science at the graduate level. Her work focuses on exploring the correlation between magnetic softness and microstructural properties in comparison to typical FINEMET composition, specifically Fe73.5Cu1Nb3Si13.5B9. Her expertise includes methods such as X-ray diffraction, frequency analyzer measurement, Curie temperature measurement and Hyperthermia, MRI contrast agent. Additionally, Umasree Dhar has broadened her academic horizons through visits to India and Nepal. She developed many self-learning modules and published research articles in the national and international journals.
