Runu Biswas
Assistant Professor
Mathematics, OS
Runu Biswas started her teaching career as a Lecturer in Mathematics at the Open School of Bangladesh Open University (BOU-OS) in 2012. She earned her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Mathematics, with a dissertation, from Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
As part of her responsibilities at Bangladesh Open University, Runu is actively engaged in developing self-learning materials, particularly in print and audio-video formats. To date, she has prepared five printed self-learning modules, which are used as study materials at the secondary, higher secondary, and graduate levels. She has also anchored 23 course-based audio and video programs, which are available on BOUtube. In addition, she teaches mathematics courses at the secondary, higher secondary, and graduate levels and performs various academic and administrative responsibilities as an active member of the institution.
Runu has published thirteen research articles in academic journals and has participated in conferences related to engineering, mathematics, and Open and Distance Learning (ODL). Her publications cover diverse areas, including lattice Boltzmann method, heat transfer analysis, microchannel performance, fluid dynamics, mathematical modelling, learner support services, and distance education. She has also participated in various training programs and workshops to enhance her professional capabilities and skills. Besides participating in such programs, she has moderated and facilitated workshops for diverse target groups.
At present, her research interests focus on fluid dynamics, lattice Boltzmann method, heat and mass transfer, microchannels, thermofluids engineering, and open and distance learning.
