Arpita Hossain Mukta

Arpita Hossain Mukta is a Lecturer of Environmental Science at the School of Agriculture and Rural Development (SARD), Bangladesh Open University (BOU), Gazipur. She has completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Soil, Water, and Environment from the University of Dhaka, where she earned the prestigious Dean’s Award (2025) for outstanding undergraduate academic performance.
During her Master’s program, she was awarded the National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship (2023-24) by the Ministry of Science and Technology. Her MSc research was focused on Organic potato cultivation, conducted at the Experimental net house of the Department of Soil, Water, and Environment, University of Dhaka. She also attended the 6th Organic Asia Congress as an organic youth in Kauswagan, Philippines (2023).
Previously, Arpita worked as an adjunct lecturer in the Department of Environmental Science at BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology. Her research interests include Hydroponics, Microplastic pollution, Organic Agriculture and food security, Particulate matter in air pollution, and pesticide residue impacts on water bodies.
